The Longhorn Run is a 5K and 10K run produced from the combined efforts of the LHR committee, UT RecSports, UT Student Government and Victory at Gregory Gym. Approaching its fifth year, the Longhorn Run has become a Texas tradition that unites thousands of students, alumni, and Austin community members as they train together and ultimately cross the finish line on race day!
LHR 2015 is set for April 11, 2015 on the University of Texas campus. As the course winds through the historic Forty Acres and surrounding Austin streets, several iconic UT symbols will be highlighted and brought to life. You name it, and it will be somewhere along the course! Members of a variety of student organizations cheer on the runners with their Texas spirit, and there is a Texas-sized celebration at the finish line featuring prominent figures on campus.
Proceeds from the race benefit the UT Student Government Student Excellence Fund and the UT RecSports Student Excellence Fund. These funds give various student organizations the ability to make an impact on campus, in the community, and ultimately around the world.
