OSFS Services: Speed Your Time-to-Degree!
Bevonomics: Bevonomics teaches students how to better manage their money, credit, and debt. Perhaps you had an opportunity to read the article in Friday’s Daily Texan, “Workshop Educates Students on Facts about Leasing.” This is one of several Bevonomics workshops we are offering the campus community this spring. A full schedule of these workshops can be found on our Bevonomics website.
Continuing and Transfer Scholarship Application: Now is also the time for students to go to the Spotlights section of OSFS’s website to apply through for 2012-13 Continuing and Transfer Scholarships. The deadline for this application is April 1, although students who wish to apply for Unrestricted Endowed Presidential Scholarships must complete this by February 24 and students seeking Texas Exes scholarships must finish it by March 1.
FAFSA Completion Assistance: This year’s March 15 FAFSA priority deadline fast approaching, so we are offering students opportunities to learn how to complete the FAFSA – without which we cannot consider them for need-based grants, loans, and work-study in 2012-13. These include an on-line tutorial, “7 Easy Steps to the FAFSA,” and several in-person FAFSA completion sessions during which our counselors will be available on a walk-in basis to help students fill out the FAFSA.
TexasScholarships.org: OSFS also has an on-line service called TexasScholarships.org on which we post information about private scholarship opportunities. TexasScholarships.org also has links to reputable scholarship search engines. It is available 24/7 to all students admitted to or enrolled in the University.
UT4Less: Budget and regulatory limitations make it impossible for every student to receive a grant or a scholarship, but our newest publication, UT4Less, continues to be available on-line to help all undergraduates learn how to make the world-class education UT offers as affordable as possible, and to limit their borrowing to only what they absolutely need.
